“When a person doesn’t have gratitude, something is missing in his or her humanity. A person can almost be defined by his or her attitude toward gratitude.” -Elie Wiesel

A major Kingdom virtue is gratitude. It is a fundamental principle and a critical testament of anyone who desires to achieve greatness, happiness and progress. However, you also need to understand that a major virus that keeps individuals and organizations stagnant and insignificant is ingratitude. An attitude of ingratitude closes doors, and causes a person to stop enjoying favour.

I believe an attitude of thankfulness and gratitude is a major trait the Almighty God wants us to cultivate and develop in order to experiencing His awesome blessings and limiteless provision.

It is important you understand this truth: an attitude of ingratitude weakens your access to the blessings of God, and ingratitude gradually dries up your resources. You cannot keep experiencing the blessing of your Source if you are an ungrateful person. Gratitude prolongs blessings and good tidings. Every time God does anything for us, He watches out for our reaction. Our attitude of gratitude reveals a lot about us.

Indeed, our sense of gratitude makes us appealing to God. Gratitude secures increase of all good things. Only those who are thankful will always have their tanks full.

By the way, there is no person on the earth who does not have atleast a reason to be thankful to God every day. First and foremost, you are not alive because you deserve it or because you’ve earned it… You are alive only because of God’s goodness and mercy (Psalms 3:5). You have a sound health… You have a sound mind… And yes, you have seen another day… Indeed, everything you see and experience is the mercy of God at work in your favour… We must stop living with an attitude of entitlement. In reality, you have not earned anything you presently have or enjoy.

“In everything give thanks for this is the will of God concerning you.” – (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

“Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God… And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” – (Philippians 4:6-7).

Gratitude to God is a major secret to entering your next level. If you cannot thank God for what He has done, you may not experience other things that He can do. I believe this was the tragedy of the Israelites… Since they could not thank Him for what He had done, they were not qualified to experience more of what He could do… It became too difficult for them to thank God for their deliverance from Egypt and Pharaoh, so it became too easy for them to be destroyed and wasted in the wilderness. Only the grateful were able to access the Promised Land. An attitude of gratitude gives you cheap access to your next level.

Make it a habit and an lifelong addiction to always express gratitude to God, every day. Thank Him both for prayers answered and prayers not yet answered. There are several amazing things God is doing for you daily that you are not aware of. Thank Him daily, both for what you and what you don’t know; both for what you see and cannot see. Let THANKSGIVING TO GOD become your lifelong addiction.

Always remember this wise words of Arthur Ward: “Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.”

Blessed day further!
